Jennifer Hudson Taylor
Jennifer Hudson Taylor was born in Greensboro, N.C. Always a voracious reader with a vivid imagination, she was thrilled when her aunt introduced her to a box of 30 Harlequin romances at the age of twelve. Jennifer quickly devoured those books, ran out of things to read, and it was then she decided to write the next Gone With the Wind. She hand wrote half the story in a spiral notebook. Eventually she tossed it in a drawer and abandoned the project through her busy teenage years. She graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in Communications/Journalism in 1993 and married Dwayne Taylor that summer. Never one to completely abandon a project, she pulled out her old manuscript and finished it at the age of 25. It was the first book she boldly pitched to a Berkley editor at her first RWA Conference in Dallas in 1996.
Jennifer has numerous articles published locally and nationally through such publications as Heritage Quest Magazine, Everton’s Genealogical Helper and The Military Trader. Jennifer co-authored a business book entitled, Ensuring Maximum Restaurant Profits: 365 Secrets Revealed through Atlantic Publishing Group. Most recently Jennifer’s Scottish Medieval, Promised Blessings, and her first contemporary novel, By His Plan, were finalists in the 2007 Genesis Contests, hosted by American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW). Also, in the summer of 2007, she signed a literary contract with Agent Terry Burns at Hartline Literary Agency. In October, Jennifer started Carolina Christian Writers, which became an official chapter of ACFW in March 2008.
